On September 29, we organized a special masterclass in conducting led by conductor Sander Teepen.
During this inspiring day, selected students were given the unique opportunity to learn more about the profession of conductor and to collaborate with our orchestra of talented young musicians.
Under the guidance of Sander Teepen, the participants were able to put their skills into practice. Each student chose one of two iconic pieces from our recent repertoire, performed during the opening concert of the International Festival Vocalis in October: Tchaikovsky’s stirring Overture 1812 or Smetana’s beautiful Má Vlast: The Moldau.
Thanks to the generous support of the VSB fonds and Gemeente Maastricht, the masterclass was free for all participants. The public was also very welcome to attend the sessions and enjoy the special interaction between conductor, students and orchestra.
We would like to thank Sander Teepen, the VSB Fund, Gemeente Maastricht and everyone involved who made this inspiring day possible.
