The Limburg Youth Symphony Orchestra is the only youth symphony orchestra in Limburg. The aim of the LJSO is to let young musicians in the age category 14 - 23 years play together at the highest possible level in a fully-fledged symphony orchestra.
The orchestra consists of students from conservatories, music schools and young talent from private education.
Samuel Agustín Aguirre (1993) was born in the Colombian village of Bolívar where he developed his musical talents. In 2014 he started his training as a conductor with Jan Cober and since 2019 he also studies orchestral conducting with Sander Teepen. In 2016, Samuel performed as a solist with the South Netherlands Philharmonic in Limburg and Brabant. In 2005 - at the time oboist of Amikejo - he received the first André Rieu incentive price.
In 2017 he received the 'WMC talent award'. Since 2018, Samuel has been oboist of Colombia's National Youth Symphony Orchestra. As guest conductor he has worked with the municipal youth orchestra from Medellin and the European Union Harmony Orchestra.
Playing in an orchestra is a fantastic experience: playing together with other musicians at a high level and experiencing all kinds of music. Your concentration and 'dare to play' grows. In addition you build extra skills on your instrument. Our coaches are focused on your personal guidance and encourage you to join the group.
Do you play a string instrument, wind instrument or percussion with a minimum level C or D (higher level for Belgium)? You are very welcome to join our orchestra. Register using the form below. See you at the following rehearsal!
Would you also like to play in the Limburg Youth Sympony Orchestra? You are welcome to attend one of our rehearsals or one of our concerts! Fill in the form and we will contact you as soon as possible.
