On November 1st, the Limburgs Jeugd Symfonie Orkest (LJSO) held a free violin masterclass with Joris van Rijn, Concertmaster of the Radio Philharmonisch Orkest, made possible thanks to generous subsidies. Young violinists had the chance to receive guidance from an experienced professional..

The pieces played included the exposition from the first movement of Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto, Praeludium and Allegro by Fritz Kreisler, the exposition and development of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, Sarabande from Bach’s Second Partita, and orchestral excerpts from Don Juan.
Joris van Rijn offered tips on technique, expression, and interpretation, giving students practical advice for both solo and orchestral playing. LJSO is proud to offer such educational opportunities to young musicians.
